I have always loved working with clay and every so often would find a course to indulge this interest. In the past four years under the expert tutelage of ceramist Anna Whitehouse, I have coiled and slab built, pinched pots, delved into the complex world of slips and glazes, tried out all sorts of decorative techniques, and been introduced to smoke firing in dustbins. Some things worked and some did not.

Currently I am experimenting with different ways to combine and incorporate figurative and printing ideas into clay, using my life drawings and portraits from the renaissance as source material.
