Printmaking

Monoprints

A monoprint is a one-off print and therefore unique.

Figures and Portraits

The predominant process in the prints below involves the drawing on paper that is floated in an inked surface, such as glass. Essentially, I am drawing through paper. I use a variety of papers and pencils. I often rework the image, re-ink the glass and relay the paper –  to redraw, darken or accentuate areas. In this process the ink often has a life of its own and the results unexpected.

Mixed media and printmaking processes

The prints below are all monoprints that have been inspired by nature, landscape or my life drawing classes involving different print making processes, often in combination, such as gelli printing, lino printing, and traditional mono-printing.

A range of mediums and papers may also have been used including traditional printing inks, acrylics and chalks.
